Over the last three years Headway Gateshead and South Tyneside has been promoting a greater understanding of all aspects of brain injury.

Headway Gateshead and South Tyneside is looking for a Community Development Officer to help us expand our servives and the raise the profile of Headway in the community.

If you are ambitious, reliable team player looking for a fresh challenge within the voluntary sector this may mean an opportunity for you.

Social Evenings

Our next group meeting will be held on Tuesday 2nd February 2010. We will be having a social and games night so I hope to see you there.

Happy New Year!!

Thanks to everyone who attended our Christmas party in December at Eslington Villas - we had a lovely evening.

Our next group meeting will be held on Tuesday 12th January 2010. Jayne Norwood from Gateshead Council will be visiting our group to provide advice and support on health issues including diet, exercise and other health related information. So come along to find out more about what is on offer in your local area, it might even help out with some of your New Year resolutions!

Our February meeting will be at Gateshead Carers on Tuesday 2nd February, further details will follow in due course.

NHS South of Tyne Brain Injury Event - 13/11/09

NHS South of Tyne are holding a stakeholder event for prople with ABI, their families and carers. They are planning to hold an event in November to discuss how they as a PCT would like to improve thier services for people who have this long term condition. They know their services are variable across South of Tyne and Wear, so they would like to change this for the better.

They would really like you to come and join us to discuss how we improve the type of services we have across Sunderland, South Tyneside and Gateshead. The event will be based around group work and they are very keen that people give them their view where changes to existing and future services are discussed.

The event is planned for Friday 13th November from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The event will involve professionals in the services across the three areas and experiences from a number of patients/carers.
