Headway Gateshead and South Tyneside and Headway Tynedale were "hanging around" together at the Calvert Trust activity centre on Wednesday 26 May 2010. Having a go on the 'King Swing' was the highlight of the afternoon. The group worked together to hoist fellow members up to a great height before the person at the top pulled the all important red and black strippy rope to release the swing into action! Group members said that the best and worse part of the activity was the free fall element before the swinging motion actually started!! After the King Swing people had their feet firmly back on the ground with an archery competition. They are planning to hold an event in November to discuss how they as a PCT would like to improve thier services for... They know their services are variable across South of Tyne and Wear, so they would like to change this for the better. They would really like you to come and join us to discuss how we improve the type of services we have across Sunderland, South Tyneside and Gateshead. The event will be based around group work and they are very keen that people give them their view where changes to existing and future services are discussed. The event is planned for Friday 13th November from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The event will involve professionals in the services across the three areas and experiences from a number of patients/carers. The committee has two new members Alistair McDonald (Chair) and Jackie Waggott (Treasurer). The result of the day is that we now have a firm strategy and set of targets for the short, medium and long term. Members of the committee will now collate the information produced on the day and use it to inform their thinking when meeting with Commissioners of services.
