Our next group meeting will be held on Tuesday 12th January 2010. Jayne Norwood from Gateshead Council will be visiting our group to provide advice and support on health issues including diet, exercise and other health related information. They are planning to hold an event in November to discuss how they as a PCT would like to improve thier services for people who have this long term condition. They know their services are variable across South of Tyne and Wear, so they would like to change this for the better. They would really like you to come and join us to discuss how we improve the type of services we have across Sunderland, South Tyneside and Gateshead. The event will be based around group work and they are very keen that people give them their view where changes to existing and future services are discussed. The event is planned for Friday 13th November from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The event will involve professionals in the services across the three areas and experiences from a number of patients/carers. After the success of our recent summer party we will be having a quiz and social evening this month at Gateshead Carers.
